Secretary General of OIC Parliamentary Union: Khojaly genocide is an example of atrocity and cruelty towards the people of Azerbaijan

Secretary General of the Parliamentary Union of the Organisation of Islamic Co-operation (PUIC) Mouhamed Khouraichi Niass has sent a letter to Speaker of the Azerbaijani Milli Majlis Sahiba Gafarova on the 30th anniversary of the Khojaly genocide.

“The mass killing committed in the Azerbaijani town of Khojaly in 1992 contradicts the “Convention on the Prevention and Punishment of the Crime of Genocide” and is an example of atrocity and cruelty towards the people of Azerbaijan,” the letter said. “Such acts are classified as genocide and are condemned categorically pursuant to the UN General Assembly Resolution No 260 of 9 December 1948,” the PUIC Secretary General mentioned.

Muhammad Khouraichi Niass expressed full support to the people, government and parliament of Azerbaijan.

The PUIC Secretary General reiterated his deepest condolences in connection with the anniversary of the Khojaly genocide and wished the people of the world and, especially, the people of Azerbaijan the well-deserved peace and prosperity.
